“My husband lives with a debilitating chronic health condition. While I’m able to care for him in our home today, he will likely need home care as his disease progresses and we both age. Social security is our only source of income, so we depend on Medi-Cal to cover the costs of care we simply wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise. It pays for his expensive medications, and soon it will support me as his full-time caregiver. If Republicans in Congress cut Medi-Cal, I’m afraid we would lose our home – and we have nowhere else to go. All our lives we’ve paid into these programs, with the assurance that the care would be there for us when we need it. That’s what Rep. Young Kim and every California Republican has promised us, and now it’s time for her to keep that promise and vote NO on any Medicaid cuts.”
