“Medi-Cal is a lifeline for the seniors and people with disabilities I care for, allowing them to stay in their homes with dignity. Caring for my daughters is not only my obligation to them but my duty towards humanity. With my daughters specific disabilities has been a blessing as they have given me opportunities to be able to look within myself and grow in my humanity towards others. When I advocate for my girls, I’m advocating for all the children with disabilities.
“Cutting this funding would force vulnerable Californians into institutions and make it even harder for caregivers like me to provide quality care. Lawmakers must take action now to protect Medi-Cal, invest in home care, and ensure caregivers receive fair wages for the critical work we do.”
